L.G. Sheldon of Altoona went to glory January 25 after a brave battle with his health. L.G. was born to Len and Dorotha Sheldon on October 27, 1955.

He graduated from Southeast Polk High School (go RAMS!) and attended Simpson College (Yay Storm!) He worked in the family business, Union 76 Truck Stop in Altoona. He was a "sports nut". From boyhood he loved sports of all kinds. Never a player but a valued fan of Southeast Polk, Simpson, the L.A. Lakers, Washington Redskins, Anaheim Angels, the N.Y. Yankees and of course the Iowa Hawkeyes. He will be missed in the stands.

L.G. is survived by his sister, Dixie Lundquist and her husband, Bruce as well as nephews Adam and Caleb. They miss him and his friends and cousin, Di Anne Neumayer, do too.

Services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., in the Skinner C Hotel Room at Prairie Meadows Racetrack Casino Hotel.

Private burial at Chariton Cemetery will be held sometime in the spring.  Fielding Funeral Home of Chariton, Iowa was in charge of the arrangements
